# Content discovery

### Digital discovery

Learners can discover content through:

* **Full-text search** powered by OpenSearch, across titles, descriptions, and content metadata
* **Faceted filters** across framework dimensions such as subject, grade level, medium, and content type
* **Curated sections** on the home page and explore page, such as Most Popular, Trending, Recently Added, and Recommended
* **Personalised recommendations** on the home dashboard for logged-in learners, based on learning history

Filter dimensions are fully configurable and can match your taxonomy.

### Phygital discovery

{% hint style="info" %}
**Add-on required:** DIAL and QR code functionality is an optional Spark add-on. It is disabled by default. See [Getting Started › Enabling Add-ons](/sunbird-spark/use/getting-started/enabling-add-ons.md).
{% endhint %}

When the DIAL add-on is enabled, physical learning materials such as textbooks, posters, and handouts can link to digital content through QR codes. A learner scans the QR code with the Spark mobile app and goes directly to the linked digital resource.

This is the Sunbird capability used by DIKSHA to link physical textbooks to digital counterparts.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://sunbird.gitbook.io/sunbird-spark/learn/components/content-discovery.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
