# Targeted programmes

{% hint style="info" %}
**Add-on required:** Manage Learn is an optional Spark add-on. It is disabled by default.
{% endhint %}

Manage Learn provides structured programme management capabilities beyond standard course enrolment. It is designed for scenarios where learners need to complete real-world tasks, not just consume digital content.

#### Projects

A project is a set of defined tasks that a learner must complete in the real world. Each task has a description, evidence requirements such as photos or text, and a deadline.

Common use cases include:

* School improvement plans, where head teachers document infrastructure improvements
* On-the-job training milestones, where trainees submit evidence of workplace tasks
* Community health worker activity tracking

#### Observations

An observation is a structured data-collection exercise. An observer, such as a school inspector or programme manager, completes a QuML-based question set while visiting a facility or reviewing a learner's work. Observations generate structured data that can be aggregated for programme-level insight.

#### Surveys

Surveys are one-time or recurring questionnaires sent to targeted groups of learners or administrators. Survey data is aggregated and reported at the programme level.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://sunbird.gitbook.io/sunbird-spark/learn/components/targeted-programmes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
